Maryland's 27th Annual Statewide Memorial Services will be held in Cecil, Charles, Frederick and Kent Counties on Sunday, April 10, 2016. These services of hope and remembrance honor Maryland's murdered and missing victims while uniting families and friends of crime victims, victim service professionals, and public officials. The memorial services are sponsored by the Maryland State Board of Victim Services and the State's Attorney's Offices in each of the four regions.
Each year, the services mark the beginning of Maryland's observance of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week and feature inspirational speakers, musical performances, and quiet reflection. Family members, advocates and volunteers will read the names of over 3,000 Maryland homicide, vehicular manslaughter, and missing crime victims.
Additional events are planned across Maryland in recognition of National Crime Victims' Rights Week.
