Police: Suspect in human trafficking case used violence to control women

Police said a 42-year-old man used violence and other coercive means to extort women into a prostitution business in Anne Arundel County and Baltimore.

Chewayne Harrod, of Baltimore, has been charged with multiple counts, including human trafficking, prostitution, theft, extortion and second-degree assault, according to court records. Harrod was arrested on Friday and released on Sunday, according to online court records.

The charges are the result of a three-month investigation by Anne Arundel investigators with assistance from Baltimore police.
