Howard County police charge 3 with human trafficking

Three people have been charged with human trafficking and prostitution after a two-month investigation, Howard County police said.

Police said two men and a woman were forcing women from various states to perform sex acts for money and taking the profits.

Donald M. Williams, 41, of Baltimore, Tiffany N. Lowery, 30, of Baltimore, and Rashon T. Pratt, 27, of Camden, New Jersey, were arrested over the weekend on multiple counts of human trafficking and prostitution, police said.

Detectives began an investigation in September into a series of similar ads on Backpage.com that all used the name "X-Factor" in the title. Police determined that as many as 12 women were being advertised for the purposes of prostitution under this same title...
