Rockville opts into human trafficking crackdown

ROCKVILLE – Calling Rockville a "safe haven" for human trafficking may be a bit dramatic but it's a pertinent enough issue to cause the City Council to opt-in to a Montgomery County anti-trafficking crackdown.

Council members voted 4-0 on Aug. 3 to adopt an act approved by the county council requiring the Department of Health and Human Services to issues licenses for bodywork establishments to operate within the County.

The County Council enacted the law in April, but it didn't go into effect until July 22. The law (Bill No. 9-15) expires Sept. 3, 2016...
