FREDERICK, Md. - The FBI said human trafficking is the most common form of modern day slavery, and in Maryland, Frederick County officials are teaming-up with one another to fight the issue.
When it comes to human trafficking in Frederick County, officials said, when they come across a victim, currently, there are limited resources available.
Sgt. Andrew Alcorn with the Frederick Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit (CRU) recalls one of two instances when this occurred.
"There was juvenile female that was the victim of human trafficking. She was brought here from another state, and we were having difficulty trying to gather resources with CPS at 12:30 a.m., one o clock, two o'clock in the morning,” said Sgt. Alcorn...
